REMARKS.

CHRISTCHURCH.

The first day of the month was warm and cloudless, with a light easterly breeze, but a sudden change in the weather occurred on the 2nd, which was overcast, cold, and gloomy. At 10 p.m. on that day the rain began to fall, at first gently, but very heavy later, and all day on the 3rd until 8 p.m.
