GOLD MINING LEASE REGULATIONS.

  1. What land may be leased.

All auriferous Crown Lands in the West Canterbury Gold Fields not in the occupation of any person other than the applicant for mining purposes, business sites in all unsurveyed townships, and all residence areas, may be leased. Provided that the lessee of such land shall not be entitled to interfere with the owner of any water right, race, dam, reservoir, puddling machine, or sludge channel, lawfully held by such owner prior to the granting of such lease.
