PUBLIC NOTICE.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that Friday, the 8th instant, will be observed as a General Holiday, in consequence of the Review of the Volunteers by His Excellency the Governor on that day.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has made the following Reserves, temporarily, under the 19th clause of the Waste Lands Regulations; viz.——

No. 288, in red.—One thousand two hundred and eighty acres, more or less, situate on the north bank of the Rakaia, bounded on the south by the Rakaia, on the east by the Ferry Reserve, lately held by Flowers, on the west by a line at right angles to the river, and on the north by a line parallel to and distant one mile from the river—For town and railway station purposes.

No. 463, in red.—All that piece or parcel of land, containing twenty-three acres two roods and twenty perches, more or less, situate in the Town of Hokitika, being bounded on the north by the continuation of the northern boundary of the Town Belt, on the east by Sale-street, on the south by Spencer-street, and on the west by Fitzherbert-street; subject nevertheless to a footpath, ten feet wide, along the northern boundary of this Reserve—For extension of cemetery at Hokitika.

and
CHARLES MARCUS WAKEFIELD
to be Draftsmen in the Survey Department, Christchurch.

Such appointments to date from the 1st of January, 1867.

HEREBY certify that SAMUEL ALEXANDER PATRICK has submitted to me satisfactory proof of his qualification as a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons, England, and a Licentiate of the Society of Apothecaries.
