(a) DECLARATION.—I, R. K. Laurie, of St. Leonards, do hereby solemnly declare that my Sheep, 860 in number, marked D, now being depastured by me at the Hurunui Crossing, have not within three months last past had applied to any of them any reputed scab-destroying preparation, nor been mixed with any Sheep infected with scab or catarrh; and I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true.
Declared before me at Hastie’s, this 24th day of August, 1867.—H. RAMSAY SCARYELL, Inspector of Sheep.
I, Thomas Rutherford, hereby testify to the correctness of the declaration made by R. K. Laurie, for 860 Sheep, branded D, the property of Messrs. Rhodes and Wilkin, and which were inspected at the Hurunui Yards, on the 24th day of August, 1867.

(b) DECLARATION.—I, William J. Moffatt, Manager of Ashburton Station, Ashburton, do hereby solemnly declare that I have made a complete muster of all the Sheep in my charge, and that my Sheep, branded — being 4,000 in number, now being at Ashburton Station, have not within two months last past had applied to any of them any reputed scab-destroying preparation, nor within two months been mixed with any Sheep infected with scab or catarrh; and I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true.
Declared before me at Ashburton, this 10th day of August, 1867.—R. F. HOLDERNESS, Inspector of Sheep.
Corroborative of W. J.
