to be Under Secretary for the Province of Canterbury.

HIS Honor the Deputy Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has been pleased to appoint

Joseph Beswick, Esq.,

to be the Revising Commissioner to revise the Ratepayers’ Rolls for the several Road Districts of the Province.

Westland District.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned Debtors have respectively filed their Petitions for relief under “The Debtors and Creditors Acts,” and the Court has appointed Monday, the Twenty-third day of September, 1867, at eleven o’clock in the forenoon, at the Supreme Court House, Hokitika, for the hearing of the said Petitions, at which time and place all parties concerned are to attend:—

Denis Fraher, of Hokitika, formerly carrying on business in partnership with one Thomas Kiley, as “Denis Fraher and Co.” and as “Thomas Kiley and Co.,” Storekeepers.

James Alexander Macdonald, of Hokitika, Confectioner.

Thomas Minton, of Hokitika, Musician.

Charles Sommers, of Hokitika, Brewer.

Dated this 21st day of August, 1867.
