Melbourne in the Colony of Victoria Gentleman defendant and in order that the plaintiff may proceed in his action we command you that you do retain and keep all and singular lands and hereditaments monies and chattels bills bonds and other property of whatsoever nature in the custody or under the control of you at the time of the service of this writ belonging to the above named defendant Orbell Willoughby Oakes or to us in which such defendant shall at that time be legally or equitably entitled or otherwise beneficially interested and whether solely or jointly with any other person or persons and all debts of any kind then due by you to such defendant although the same or any part thereof may be payable at a future day And we further command you that you in your own proper person be and appear before such Judge of our said Court as shall be sitting in Chambers on Tuesday the Twenty-fourth day of September next at eleven o’clock in the forenoon and to be examined touching the premises and to do and receive what shall then and there be considered of you in that behalf and this you shall in nowise omit.

The following Harbour Regulations for the several Ports of Entry on the West Coast of the Province, to come into operation and take effect from and after the First day of August, 1867, are extracted from the New Zealand Gazette, No. 42, dated July 24, 1867.

HARBOUR REGULATIONS.

Nothing contained in these Regulations shall be deemed to apply to any ship, boat, or gunpowder, the property of Her Majesty, or to any ship of war of any foreign nation, or to any gunpowder in charge of the Government of the Colony.

The master of every vessel shall anchor or moor where the Harbour Master or person deputed by him may direct, and he shall not unmoor or quit the anchorage until permission be given by the Harbour Master, and any master offending against this Regulation shall forfeit a sum not exceeding five pounds.

All vessels moored or at anchor are to have both cables clear and in readiness to slack away when required, and in default thereof the master shall forfeit and pay a sum not exceeding ten pounds.

All masters or other persons in charge of vessels are immediately to strike their topgallant yards and masts, to have their jib and spanker booms rigged close in, and moor or clear hawse, when called upon by the Harbour Master or other competent authority to do so, and are generally to follow such directions as the state of the weather, the crowded condition of the port or river, or other circumstances may render necessary or expedient in the judgment of the Harbour Master, with a view to the safety and interest of the whole shipping;
