PROCLAMATION
By His Honor WILLIAM SEFTON MOORHOUSE, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, signifying his assent to the levying of a Rate by the Timaru Municipal Council.
WHEREAS by a Proclamation, dated the Ninth day of May, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-five, the Town of Timaru was constituted a Municipal District under "The Municipal Council Ordinance, Session XIV, No. 2:" And whereas the Council, duly elected under the provisions of the said Ordinance for the said District, have agreed to levy a Rate of One Shilling in the Pound: Now, therefore, I, WILLIAM SEFTON MOORHOUSE, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, do hereby, with the advice of my Executive Council, signify my assent to the levying of the said Rate in accordance with the Twenty-eighth Clause of the said Ordinance.
Given under my hand, this Sixteenth day of July, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has made the following Reserve, temporarily, under the 19th Clause of the Waste Lands Regulations; viz.—
No. 288, in red.—One thousand two hundred and eighty acres, more or less, situate on the north bank of the Rakaia, bounded on the south by the Rakaia, on the east by the Ferry Reserve now held by Flowers, on the west by a line at right angles to the river, and on the north by a line parallel to and distant one mile from the river—For railway purposes.
