PROCLAMATION

By His Honor William Sefton Moorhouse, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury.

WHEREAS, on the Twelfth day of January last, I, William Sefton Moorhouse, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, did prorogue the Provincial Council of the said Province till the First day of May next, and the said Provincial Council did stand prorogued accordingly:

Now, therefore, I, William Sefton Moorhouse, Superintendent as aforesaid, in pursuance of the powers vested in me in that behalf, do hereby further prorogue the said Provincial Council until Friday the Seventeenth day of May next.

Given under my hand, at Christchurch, this Twenty-ninth day of April, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has cancelled the appointment of

Edward Harman
as Assistant Surveyor at Westland.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has been pleased to appoint the following Gentlemen to act as Commissioners to inquire generally into the Civil Service of the Province:—
