R E M A R K S.

CHRISTCHURCH.

The month of November opened with nine days of exceedingly fine dry weather; very warm on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, cool and pleasant for the remaining period, with a clear sky and light southerly breezes. Light rain fell on the night of the 10th, and forenoon of the 11th. The 13th was very warm and bright, with a strong N.W. wind. From the 14th to the 17th day cool cloudy weather prevailed, with occasional showers of rain. A smart shower of hail fell on the morning of the 20th, accompanied by a very cold S.W. wind. The day following was stormy and hot; the wind which had been very unsteady for 24 hours previous, blew with great violence from N.W. for six hours; at 9.30 a.m. the temperature in shade was 69°·5, dew point 46°·3, and relative humidity 44, the lowest in the month.
