HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has made the following Reserve, temporarily, under the 19th clause of the Waste Land Regulations; viz.—
No. 784, in red.—Forty acres in the Waipara District, bounded on the south by the Waitohi River, on the northward by the ridge of hills, on the eastward by sections Nos. 8293, 8298, and on the westward by a line at right angles to the general direction of the said river, so as to include the above quantity—For a Police Station.

to preside as Chairman at any meeting convened, under the provisions of “The Municipal Council Ordinance, Sess. XIV. No. 2,” for the purpose of the election of Members of the first Municipal Council of Hokitika.

Sergeant William Henry Barry
to be Inspector of Slaughter-houses for that District.

NOTICE is hereby given that by an order of this Honorable Court made the Twenty-first day of August last the estate and effects of the above named debtor were sequestrated and Henry Fowle Seager was appointed Receiver under the said Acts and the Twenty-fourth day of September instant at the Court House Christchurch was appointed as the time and place for the hearing of the petition of the said debtor and the said order was hereby declared to be a vesting order pursuant to section 8 of the said “Debtors and Creditors Act Amendment Act, 1865.”
