Canterbury District.

In the matter of the “Debtors and Creditors Act, 1862;” and

In the matter of the “Debtors and Creditors Act Amendment Act, 1865;” and

In the matter of Frederick Engledue Fynmore, formerly of Christchurch, in the Province of Canterbury, out of business, afterwards of Lyttelton, in the Province aforesaid, Police Constable, and now a prisoner for debt in the gaol of Lyttleton.


In Chambers:

This 31st day of August, 1866.

Upon the application of Mr. Nottidge of Counsel for the said petitioner Frederick Engledue Fynmore after reading the petition presented this day purporting to be signed by the said petitioner such debtor as aforesaid and also certain schedules and also an affidavit of the said Frederick Engledue Fynmore and to the said petition being annexed and therewith filed this day pursuant to the said Acts this Court being satisfied of the truth of the matters contained in the said petition doth hereby grant an ad interim order of sequestration of the estate and effects of the said Francis Scarenge and doth direct that the estate and effects of the said Francis Scarenge be taken and held by Henry Fowle Seager of Christchurch aforesaid Accountant as Receiver under the said Acts hereby appointed by the Court subject to such further order of the Court as may be made under or in pursuance of the said Acts: And this Court doth hereby appoint Monday the Twenty-fourth day of September next at eleven o’clock in the forenoon for the hearing of such petition and the proof of debts and claims of creditors at the Court House Christchurch aforesaid and this order is hereby declared to be a vesting order pursuant to section eight of the said “Debtors and Creditors’ Act Amendment Act, 1865.”

NOTICE.

In accordance with Clause 6 of the “Municipal Council Ordinance, Session XIV, No. 2,” we, the undersigned householders of the Town of Hokitika, (having signed the petition praying that Hokitika might be constituted a Municipal District,) hereby call a public meeting of householders and others who are entitled to vote for the election of members of the Hokitika Municipal Council, to be held at the Prince of Wales Opera House, on Tuesday, the 25th day of September, 1866, at four o’clock p.m., for the purpose of electing two persons to act as Assessors at the election of Municipal Councillors, and also for the purpose of nominating candidates for the Hokitika Municipal Council:—
