July 31, 1866.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that he has made the following Reserves, temporarily, under the 19th clause of the Waste Land Regulations; viz.—

No. 741, in red.—Five acres, more or less, situate in the Oxford District, commencing at the south-western corner of section 4091, following easterly along the southern boundary thereof a distance of ten chains, and extending back southerly a distance of five chains, in a rectangular block, being partly bounded on the westward by section 3759—for the purposes of a school.

No. 742, in red.—Twelve acres two roods and twenty-eight perches, more or less, situate in the Oxford District, commencing at a point on the southern boundary of section 4091, the same being the north-east corner of Reserve No. 741 (in red), thence southerly, following the eastern boundary of that reserve, and a line in continuation thereof to the northern boundary of section 4124; thence easterly along that boundary to the western boundary of section 4255, following the latter boundary to the southern boundary of section 4195; thence westerly, following the said southern boundary a distance of two chains fifty links; and from thence, returning along the eastern and southern boundaries of the before mentioned section 4091, distances respectively of eight chains sixty links and fifteen chains five links, to the commencing point—For the purposes of a cemetery.

No. 743, in red.—Twenty acres, more or less, situate in the Oxford District, having a frontage of twenty chains to the road on the south side of section 8499, and running back southerly a distance of ten chains, in a rectangular block, being bounded on the eastward by the road forming the western boundary of section 9555—For a gravel pit.

To Richard Henry Leary, Clerk, George William Binney, Auctioneer, and Benjamin Taggart, Merchant, all of Hokitika, in the Province of Canterbury, Greeting:

WHEREAS an action is now pending in Our Supreme Court of New Zealand Westland District between Charles Wesley Turner and Beverley Buchanan (trading as “J. T. Peacock and Co.”) of Christchurch in the said Province of Canterbury plaintiffs and Richard Reeves (trading as “R. Reeves and Co.”) of Hokitika in the said Province of Canterbury auctioneer defendant And in order that the plaintiffs may proceed in their action We command you and each of you that you do retain and keep all and singular lands hereditaments moneys chattels bills bonds and other property of whatsoever nature in the custody or under the control of you or either of you at the time of the service of this writ belonging to the above named defendant Richard Reeves or to us in which such defendant shall at that time be legally or equitably entitled or otherwise beneficially interested and whether solely or jointly with any other person or persons and all debts of any kind then due by you or any of you to such defendant although the same or any part thereof may be payable at a future day And we further command you that you and each of you in your own proper persons be and appear before such Judge of our said Court as shall be sitting in chambers at the Supreme Court House at Hokitika on Monday the Sixth day of August next at ten o’clock in the forenoon and to be examined touching the premises and to do and receive what shall then and there be considered of you in that behalf.

This you shall in no wise omit.
