WILLIS, GEORGE—KOWAI.

Conditions all the same as Gebhard’s.

WHITE, CHARLES—WAIMAKARIRI RIVER.

  1. All the premises to be kept in good repair. To provide in his house, besides the tap-room, or room answering as such, one public and one private sitting-room.

  2. To provide not less than ten beds for travellers, in no less than four separate bed-rooms.

  3. To provide a shed sufficiently weather-tight, and fit for the accommodation of at least six horses.

Conditions 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 same as Bedford’s.

  1. To keep at all times a horse for conveyance of passengers across the Waimakariri, between the hours of daylight in summer and winter, the fares to be at a moderate charge. Officers of the Supreme Court, magistrates, and police constables on duty, and prisoners, to be ferried free of charge. To afford every assistance in his power in directing strangers to a safe fording across the river.

Conditions 13, 14, and 15, same as Bedford’s.


WHITE, WILLIAM—TOWNSHIP OF WEEDON.

  1. All the premises to be kept in good repair. To provide in his house, besides the tap-room, or room answering as such, one public and two private sitting-rooms.

  2. To provide not less than twenty beds for travellers, in not less than twelve separate bed-rooms.

  3. To provide a shed sufficiently weather-tight, and fit for the accommodation of at least twelve horses.

Conditions 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11, same as Bedford’s.
12. Nil.
Conditions 18, 14, and 16, same as Bedford’s.
