PROCLAMATION
By His Honor SAMUEL BEALEY, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, altering the boundaries of the Rangiora Educational District.
WHEREAS by an Ordinance enacted by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of Canterbury, intituled “The Education Ordinance Amendment Ordinance, 1865,” it is among other things provided that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury for the time being from time to time to change or alter the boundaries of any and every Educational District proclaimed under the authority of “The Education Ordinance, 1864”:
And whereas on the Twenty-ninth day of October, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-four, the Rangiora Educational District was proclaimed under the authority of the said Ordinance, the boundaries of which district it is desirable to alter.
Now, therefore, I, SAMUEL BEALEY, Superintendent of the Province aforesaid, do hereby, in pursuance of the powers so vested in me, proclaim that the boundaries of the Rangiora Educational District shall be as follows:—
Commencing at the junction of the road forming the eastern boundary of sections 8,834, 1,539, and 5,910, with the road along the southern bank of the river Ashley, thence following along the latter road easterly to the eastern boundary of section 1,271, following southerly along that boundary to the south-eastern corner thereof; thence following a right line to Trig. Station M 16; thence by the road on the north-western boundary of the Native Reserve to the river Cam, following the western side of that river to the road by Trig. Pole 17; following south-westerly along the said road to the road on the north-east side of section 1,220; thence south-easterly along the north-eastern boundary of the said section to the main drain reserve, following north-westerly along that reserve to the road first mentioned, and from thence returning along that road to the commencing point.
Given under my hand at Christchurch, this Thirteenth day of January, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.
