PROCLAMATION
Extending the Limits of the West Canterbury Gold Field.
By His Honor Samuel Bealey, Esq.,
Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury.
WHEREAS it is desirable to alter and extend the Limits of the West Canterbury Gold Field:
Now, therefore, I, Samuel Bealey, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, by virtue of the powers delegated to and vested in me by His Excellency the Governor, under and by virtue of "The Gold Fields Act, 1862," do hereby proclaim and declare that all that territory hereinafter described shall henceforth be included within and form part of the West Canterbury Gold Field, under the provisions of the said Act, that is to say:βAll that area situate in the Province of Canterbury bounded on the west by the sea; on the south by the northern boundary of the Province of Otago; on the east by the summits of the dividing range, or Southern Alps; and on the north by the boundary of the existing West Canterbury Gold Field.
Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province, at Christchurch, this Fourth day of March, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-five.

PROCLAMATION
Of the Appointment of a Warden under and by virtue of "The Gold Fields Act, 1862-63."
By Samuel Bealey, Esq., Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury.
SAMUEL BEALEY, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, do hereby, in pursuance and exercise of the powers delegated to me by His Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, under and by virtue of "The Gold Fields Act, 1862," and "The Gold Fields Act Amendment Act, 1863," appoint
WILLIAM HORTON REVELL, Esq.,
to be a Warden and Judge of all Wardens' Courts now or hereafter to be constituted within the Gold Fields of the Province of Canterbury, with power to him to act alone or with Assessors or Juries, and in such manner, and to exercise all or any of the powers in "The Gold Fields Act, 1862," and "The Gold Fields Act Amendment Act, 1863," mentioned, but declaring that such appointment shall be deemed to be provisional only until the same shall have been confirmed and allowed by the Governor.
Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province, at Christchurch, the Third day of March, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-five.
