His Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified that Thursday, the 9th instant, being the Anniversary of the Prince of Wales’ Birthday, the Public Offices will be closed on that day.

Francis Worcester Stubbs, - - - Commission Agent.
Joseph Ellis, - - - Publican.

Duncan McLean, - - - Surgeon.
Frederic Le Cren, - - - Storekeeper.

IN THE SUPREME COURT OF NEW ZEALAND,
CANTERBURY DISTRICT.
In the matter of “The Debtors’ and Creditors’ Act, 1862;” and
Of the Estate of Richard Taylor, of Christchurch, in the Province of Canterbury, a debtor, not in custody; and
Of the Petition of William Thomas Locke Travers, of Christchurch aforesaid, Gentleman, a creditor of the said debtor.
IN CHAMBERS:
This 20th day of October, 1865.
Upon the application of Mr. Travers the creditor mentioned in the said petition after reading the said petition purporting to be signed by the said William Thomas Locke Travers as such creditor as aforesaid and also two certain affidavits to the said petition annexed and therewith filed on the Nineteenth day of October instant pursuant to the said Act this Court being satisfied of the truth of the matters contained in the said petition doth hereby grant an ad interim order of sequestration of the estate and effects of the said Richard Taylor and doth direct that the estate and effects of the said Richard Taylor shall be taken and held by Henry Fowle Seager of Christchurch printer as Receiver under the said Act hereby appointed by the Court subject to such further order of the Court as may be made under or in pursuance of the provisions of this Act : And this Court doth hereby appoint Monday the Eighteenth day of December next at eleven o’clock in the forenoon for the hearing of such petition and the proof of debts and claims of creditors at the Court House in Christchurch aforesaid.
