✨ Hackney Carriage By-Law No. 2
Interpretation.
- The words "Town Clerk" where used
in this by-law shall be understood to mean
the Town Clerk of the City of Christchurch
the word "owner" shall signify every person
possessed of a beneficial interest in any
hackney carriage and the word "conductor"
shall include every person other than the
driver who shall attend upon any licensed
carriage or upon the passengers therein
and whenever in this by-law with reference
to any person matter or thing any word or
words is or are used importing the singular
number or masculine gender only such word
or words shall be understood to apply to the
plural number or feminine gender.
