THE CANTERBURY GREAT SOUTHERN RAILWAY.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that application is intended to be made to the General Assembly of New Zealand in the next Session for and on behalf of the Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, for leave to bring in a Bill to make and construct a railway commencing at the Christchurch terminus of the Lyttelton and Christchurch Railway, and terminating at a point on the northern bank of the River Rakaia, within Reserve No. 317, made by the Government for that purpose, and passing through the several sections enumerated in the schedule hereunto annexed, and to confer on the said Superintendent powers for the compulsory purchase of lands and houses along the said line, and for such other usual provisions and powers as may be necessary or desirable for the making, construction, and establishment of the said railway, and to confer on the said Superintendent powers for the selling or leasing the said railway, and for selling or leasing the railway severances of such railway.
Notice is also given that the plans of the said railway, with books of reference thereto, and copies of this notice will be deposited in the Private Bill Office on or before the commencement of the said Session, and that duplicate plans of the said railway, with books of reference thereto, and copies of the notice, will be deposited for public inspection at the Public Works Office, Government Buildings, Christchurch, on or before the first day of November next.

THE CANTERBURY GREAT NORTHERN RAILWAY.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that application is intended to be made to the General Assembly of New Zealand in the next Session, for and on behalf of the Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, for leave to bring in a Bill to make and construct a railway commencing at a point on the proposed Great Southern Railway, about five chains to the south of the south-west corner of the Town Belt of the city of Christchurch, in rural section No. 9 on the map of the Chief Surveyor of the Province of Canterbury, and terminating at a point on the south bank of the River Ashley, in rural section No. 2459 on the said map, and passing through the several sections enumerated in the schedule hereto annexed and herein referred to, and which railway is shown by a red line on the plan deposited for inspection as hereinafter mentioned, and to confer on the said Superintendent powers for the compulsory purchase of lands and houses along the said line, and for such other usual provisions and powers as may be necessary or desirable for the making, construction, and establishment of the said railway, and to confer on the said Superintendent powers for the selling or leasing the said railway, and for selling or leasing the railway severances of such railway.
Notice is also given that the plans and sections of the said railway, with books of reference thereto, and copies of this notice, will be deposited in the Private Bill Office, Christchurch, on or before the first day of the said Session.
