In the matter of the “Debtors’ and Creditors’ Act, 1862,” and in the matter of William Lewis Watts, of the Ferry Road, and Tuam Street, Christchurch, in the Province of Canterbury, Carpenter and Builder, a Debtor; and also,
In the matter of the Petition of Milton and Company, per Patrick Laurie, Creditors.
IN CHAMBERS:—
This 28th day of January, 1864.
UPON the application of Mr. Slater, of Counsel for the said Petitioners, after reading the said Petition, purporting to be signed by the said Petitioners, such Creditors aforesaid, and also two affidavits to the said Petition annexed and therewith filed on the 28th day of January, instant, pursuant to the said Act; this Court being satisfied of the truth of the matters contained in the said Petition,
doth hereby grant an ad-interim order of Sequestration of the Estate and Effects of the said William Lewis Watts; and doth direct that the Estate and Effects of the said William Lewis Watts shall be taken and held by Henry Seager, of Christchurch, as receiver, under the said Act, hereby appointed by the Court: subject to such further order of the Court as may be made under, or in pursuance of the provisions of this Act. And this Court doth hereby appoint Monday, the 15th day of February next, at 11 o’clock in the forenoon, for the hearing of such Petition and the proofs of debts and claims of creditors, at the Court House, Christchurch, aforesaid; and the Court under the circumstances set forth in the said Petition doth grant a Rule absolute, calling upon the said William Lewis Watts to appear in person before the Court, in the place and at the time appointed for hearing the said Petition as aforesaid.

HIS Honor the Superintendent, in pursuance of certain powers vested in him by “The Empowering Ordinance, Sess. 2, No. 2,” directs it to be notified that the footpaths hereinafter described, having been well and sufficiently made and completed for the use and accommodation of foot passengers, according to the provisions of “The Footpaths Ordinance, Sess. 7, No. 12,” are hereby declared to be public footpaths, and from and after the date hereof shall be deemed and taken accordingly to be public footpaths within the meaning of the said Ordinance.
The said footpaths are as follows:—
Through Papanui Village;
Dilloway’s at Riccarton to Riccarton Church;
Lincoln Road—from Scotch Church to Town Belt;
Colombo Street South—from Town Belt to junction with Windmill Road.
