Sections nineteen, thirty-one, thirty-two, thirty-three,
and sixty-one of the said Act, to have, hold,
and exercise, within the Province of Canterbury, the said powers hereby given to the said
Samuel Bealey, saying as he shall continue
and remain Superintendent of the said Pro-
vince, and no longer:
Provided always, that copies of all Rules
and Regulations made under the delegation
aforesaid, shall be forthwith transmitted to
the Colonial Secretary, in order that the
same may be laid before the General As-
sembly, in accordance with the provisions of
the sixty-third clause of "The Gold Fields
Act, 1862."
Given under my hand, at the Government
House, at Auckland, and issued under
the Seal of the Colony of New Zealand,
this Sixteenth day of August, in the
year of our Lord One thousand eight
hundred and sixty-four.

IN THE SUPREME COURT OF NEW ZEALAND,
CANTERBURY DISTRICT.
In the matter of "The Debtors’ and
Creditors’ Act, 1862;" and
In the matter of the estate of Charles
John Hubbard, now a prisoner for debt
in the prison of Lyttelton, and late
of Christchurch, in the Province of Can-
terbury, in New Zealand, accountant;
and
In the matter of the petition of the said
debtor.
IN CHAMBERS:
This Thirtieth day of August, 1864.
UPON the application of Mr. Cottrell of
Counsel for the said petitioner, Charles
John Hubbard, after reading the said peti-
tion, purporting to be signed by the said
petitioner such debtor as aforesaid, and also
certain schedules, and also an affidavit to the
said petition annexed, and therewith filed on
the Twenty-fifth day of August instant, pur-
suant to the said Act, amended and resworn
pursuant to order of this day, this Court
being satisfied of the truth of the matters
contained in the said petition, doth hereby
grant an ad interim order of sequestration
of the estate and effects of the said Charles
John Hubbard, and doth direct that the
estate and effects of the said Charles John
Hubbard shall be taken and held by Henry
Fowle Seager, of Christchurch, printer, as
Receiver under the said Act, hereby ap-
pointed by the Court, subject to such
further order of the Court as may be made
under or in pursuance of the provisions of
this Act: and the Court doth hereby ap-
point Tuesday, the Fifteenth day of No-
vember next, at eleven o’clock in the fore-
noon, for the hearing of such petition and
the proofs of debts and claims of creditors,
at the Court house, Christchurch aforesaid;
and the Court doth also further order and
grant an ad interim order of protection to
protect the person and estate of the said
Charles John Hubbard from arrest, execu-
tion, or legal process until further order of
this Court.
