    fit for the accommodation of at least ten horses.
    Conditions 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 same as
    Giggs’s.
  3. Nil.
    Conditions 13, 14, and 15, same as Giggs’s.

MARSHALL, ROBERT,
RANGITATA.

  1. All the premises to be kept in good repair. To
    provide in his house, besides the tap-room, or room
    answering as such, one public and one private sitting-room.
  2. To provide not less than six beds for travellers,
    in not less than three separate bedrooms.
  3. To provide a shed sufficiently weather-tight and
    fit for the accommodation of at least five horses.
  4. At all times to keep a proper supply of water
    for the house, and for horses and cattle.
    Conditions 5, 6, and 7, same as Giggs’s.
  5. NOT to keep a lamp burning outside the house
    at night.
    Conditions 9, 10, and 11, same as Giggs’s.
  6. Conditions regarding ferry over the Rangitata
    to stand as per special contract with the Provincial
    Government.
    Officers of the Supreme Court, magistrates, and
    police constables on duty and prisoners, to be ferried
    free of charge. To afford every assistance in his
    power in directing strangers to a safe fording across
    the river.
    Conditions 13, 14, and 15, same as Giggs’s.
  7. To keep a copy of the Public House Ordinance in the house.

McKINLAY, ARCHIBALD,
AROWHENUA.

  1. All the premises to be kept in good repair. To
    provide in his house, besides the tap-room, or room
    answering as such, one public and one private sitting-room.
  2. To provide not less than twelve beds for
    travellers, in not less than five separate bedrooms.
  3. To provide a shed sufficiently weather-tight and
    fit for the accommodation of at least six horses.
  4. At all times to keep a proper supply of water for
    the house, and for horses and cattle.
    Conditions 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11, same as
    Giggs’s.
  5. To keep at all times a safe ferry-boat (punt) in
    good working order, and ready for conveyance of
    passengers across the Arowhenua, between the
    hours of sunrise and sunset. The fare to be as fol-
    lows:—For foot-passengers, sixpence each between
    the hours above named when the punt can be
    worked by a rope; and one shilling when the rope
    cannot be worked. For every horse ten shillings.
    Officers of the Supreme Court, magistrates, and
    police constables on duty and prisoners, to be ferried
    free of charge. To afford every assistance in his
    power in directing strangers to a safe fording across
    the river. To keep a fairly-written copy of the
    charges posted in some conspicuous place.
    Conditions 13, 14, and 15, same as Giggs’s.
  6. To keep a copy of the Public House Ordinance
    in the house.

MESSENT, JOHN,
MORRAKI DOWNS.

  1. All the premises to be kept in good repair. To
    provide in his house, besides the tap-room, or
    room answering as such, one public and one private sitting-room.
  2. To provide not less than eight beds for travellers,
    in not less than four separate bedrooms.
  3. To provide a shed sufficiently weather-tight and
    fit for the accommodation of at least six horses.

  3. To provide a shed sufficiently weather-tight and
    fit for the accommodation of at least twelve
    horses.

WAIHO RIVER.

  1. All the premises to be kept in good repair. To
    provide in his house, besides the tap-room, or room
    answering as such, one public and one private sitting-room.
  2. To provide not less than fourteen beds for travellers,
    in not less than four separate bedrooms.
  3. To provide a shed sufficiently weather-tight and
    fit for the accommodation of at least five horses.
    Conditions 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11, same as
    Giggs’s.
  4. Nil.
    Conditions 13, 14, and 15, same as Giggs’s.
  5. To keep a copy of the Public House Ordinance
    in the house.

REDFERN, SALATHIEL,
OXFORD.

  1. All the premises to be kept in good repair. To
    provide in his house, besides the tap-room, or room
    answering as such, one public, and one private sitting-room.
  2. To provide not less than twelve beds for travellers,
    in not less than six separate bedrooms.
  3. To provide a shed sufficiently weather-tight and
    fit for the accommodation of at least eight horses.

HEAD OF AKAROA HARBOUR.

  1. All the premises to be kept in good repair. To
    provide in his house, besides the tap-room, or room
    answering as such, one public and one private sitting-room.
  2. To provide not less than six beds for travellers,
    in not less than four separate bedrooms.
  3. To provide a shed sufficiently weather-tight and
    fit for the accommodation of at least two horses.
    Conditions 4 and 5 same as Giggs’s.
    Conditions 6 and 7 nil.
    Conditions 8, 9, 10, 11, same as Giggs’s.
  4. To keep at all times a safe ferry boat in good
    working order, and ready for the conveyance of
    passengers from the head of the harbour to the town
    of Akaroa, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
    in summer, and between the hours of 8 a.m. and
    4 p.m. in winter. The fares to be as follows:—For
    passengers, to be 5s. each single passenger; for each
    passenger, when more than one, 3s. 6d. Officers of
