PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS on the Twenty-ninth day of April, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-four, the Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury did prorogue the Provincial Council of the said Province till the Thirtieth day of June, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-four, and the said Provincial Council did stand prorogued accordingly.

Now, therefore, I, SAMUEL BEALEY, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance of the powers vested in me in that behalf, do hereby further prorogue the said Provincial Council until Thursday, the Eleventh day of August next; and I do accordingly hereby summon the said Provincial Council to meet, for the despatch of business, in the Council Chamber at Christchurch, on Thursday, the Eleventh day of August next, at Two o’clock, P.M.

Given under my hand, at Christchurch, this Fourteenth day of June, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-four.

PROCLAMATION.

I, SAMUEL BEALEY, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in pursuance of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby proclaim the Town of Timaru, as the same is herein-after defined, as a district for the purpose of regulating the slaughtering of cattle; and that, after the Fourteenth day of July next, no person shall keep a slaughter-house or place for the purpose of slaughtering cattle intended for sale, barter, shipping, or exportation, within the said district, except such house or place be duly licensed for that purpose, in manner provided by an Ordinance of the Governor and Legislative Council of New Zealand, Session VIII, No. 5:—

"The Town of Timaru District comprises that part of the Province bounded on the north and east by the sea, on the south by the north boundary of section No. 1702, the north side of a road lying to the north of section No. 2367, the cemetery reserve 1706, and the north boundaries of sections 1706 and 1607, on the west by the east boundary of section No. 1606, the east and north boundary of section No. 707, the east boundary of section 1652, till it meets Whale’s Creek, to the sea."
