- DECLARATION.βI, John Thompson, of Conway, do hereby solemnly declare that the sheep, 3000 in number, marked 9 and H, now on board the vessel Arabia, now lying at Port Victoria, in the Province of Canterbury, New Zealand, have not within three months last past been subject to any dressing for the cure of scab, nor been mixed with any sheep infected with scab or catarrh; and I make this solemn declaration, conscientiously believing the same to be true. Declared before me, at Lyttelton, this 29th day of November, 1861.

Mr. Thompson admitted that, in accordance with his agreement with Mr. G. A. Anstey, the sheep had been dipped previously to being shipped from Melbourne.
CERTIFICATE OF INSPECTOR.βI, Philip Baker Boulton, Inspector of Sheep, hereby certify that I have carefully examined 3000 sheep, branded 9 and H, the property of John Thompson, on board the Arabia, at Port Victoria, and that I find such sheep to be entirely free from scab or catarrh.
Given under my hand at Christchurch this 29th day of November, 1861.
