ENQUIRIES having been made respecting the person named below, any one who can give any information concerning such a person is requested to communicate the same to this office.
HENRY JOHN TANCRED

Christian and Surname.—Daniel Doherty.
Supposed residence before going to the Colony—New Brunswick. Left St. John's, New Brunswick, about 20 years ago with his family, for New Zealand, and is reported to have been engaged in bay whaling since his arrival in the Colony.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint the following persons to be Licensing Officers, under the provisions of the "Arms Act, 1860:"
At Auckland—R. T. Porter, Esq., Assistant Treasurer.
At Wanganui—C. Sharp, Esq., Collector of Customs.
At Wellington—S. Carkeek, Esq., Collector of Customs.
At Napier—E. Catchpool, Esq., Collector of Customs.
At Nelson—D. Rough, Esq., Collector of Customs.
At Wairau—S. L. Muller, Esq., Sub-Collector of Customs.
At Lyttelton—H. S. McKellar, Esq., Acting Collector of Customs.
At Dunedin—C. Logie, Esq., Collector of Customs.

WHITE'S KAIAPOI BRIDGE.

THE following notice is directed to be published for general information:—
On and after Monday, the 1st day of April next, all bona fide foot passengers residing in the Town of Kaiapoi will be entitled to cross this bridge free of charge, on registering their names and addresses at the toll house.
N.B.—Those in charge of horses, cattle, &c., or with or on vehicles, will be obliged to pay as heretofore.

PUBLIC NOTICE.
Land Office, Christchurch,
14th March, 1861.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Commissioners of the Waste Lands Board will sit at the Land Office, Christchurch, on Wednesday, the 1st day of May next, at 10 a.m., to receive Pasturage License Fees, under the Land Regulations of the 1st April, 1856.
Licensees of runs, situate between the Rangitata and the Waitangi, will be required
