- DECLARATION.—I, William Gerrard, of Cheviot Hills, Nelson Province, do hereby solemnly declare that the sheep, 3,060 in number, marked LH (conjoined), now being depastured by me at Cheviot Hills, have not within three months last past been subjected to any dressing for the cure of the scab, nor been mixed with any sheep infected with scab or catarrh, and I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true. WILLIAM GERRARD.
Declared before me at Cheviot Hills, this 31st day of December, 1860. P. B. BOULTON, Inspector of Sheep.
A newly shorn sheep of Mr, Lee's crossed the river and got into the Cheviot Hills flock on the 16th October. No appearance of disease in the sheep.
CERTIFICATE OF INSPECTOR.—I, Philip Baker Boulton, Inspector of Sheep, hereby certify that I have carefully examined 3,060 sheep, branded LH (conjoined), the property of William Gerrard, now being depastured at Cheviot Hills, Nelson Province, and that I find such sheep to be entirely free from scab or catarrh. Given under my hand at Cheviot Hills, this 31st day of December, 1860. P. B. BOULTON, Inspector of Sheep.
† DECLARATION.—I, John Scott Caverhill, of Hawkswood, Nelson Province, do hereby solemnly declare that the sheep, 3,100 in number, marked B under LD (conjoined) and C (within circle), now being depastured by me at Hawkswood, have not within three months last past been subjected to any dressing for the cure of the scab, nor been mixed with any sheep infected with the scab or catarrh, and I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true.
