HIS HONOR the Superintendent directs the following notification to be published for general information.

I, JAMES EDWARD FITZ GERALD, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in virtue of the Powers vested in me by the 43rd clause of the Waste Lands' Regulations now in force within the said Province, Do hereby reserve from sale until the 31st day of August next ensuing, the portions of Land hereinafter described, that is to say—Thirty acres, more or less, situate at Pigeon Bay, Banks' Peninsula, having frontage seven and a-half chains to a road, (from the beach near the south-west corner of section 207, up the hill to the eastward,) and back, adjoining the south eastern boundary line of section 172—Mr. Robinson's land—a depth of forty chains.
Also, Twenty acres, more or less, situate at Raupo Bay, Banks' Peninsula, having five chains frontage to the reserve, of sixty-six feet along the beach, and back forty chains, on the south-east side of the creek.
The whole of such land or such part thereof, as the Waste Lands' Board shall adjudge, to be granted to Richard Davis, by way of payment for work done in accordance with a contract this day approved by me for the construction of a road in Pigeon Bay.

to be Clerk to the Resident Magistrates Court, at Lyttelton.
The appointment to bear date from the 27th day of January last.

HIS HONOR the Superintendent directs it to be notified for public information that he has appointed the undermentioned gentlemen to be Trustees of the Lyttelton Savings' Bank, under the provisions of the Savings' Bank Ordinance, Session VIII, No. 4.
