HIS Honor the Superintendent directs the following notification to be published for general information.

Provincial Secretary.
I, WILLIAM SEFTON MOORHOUSE, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in virtue of the powers vested in me by the 43rd clause of the Waste Lands' Regulations, now in force within the said Province, do hereby reserve from sale the portions of land hereinafter described, that is to say,β
Twenty acres near Rangiora, having five chains frontage to the Harewood-road, about twenty-five chains westward of Section 900, and Section 969, to be reserved until the 7th day of December next ensuing.
The whole of such land, or such part thereof as the Waste Lands' Board shall adjudge, to be granted to John Foster, by way of payment for work in filling up a gulley in Christchurch, in accordance with a contract approved by the late Superintendent on the 26th of September, 1857.
Twenty acres, near Papanui, eastward of and adjoining Section 528, fronting the road on the north-western boundary line of Section 798, to be reserved until the 2nd day of January, 1858.
The whole of such land, or such part thereof as the Waste Lands' Board shall adjudge, to be granted to James Main, by way of payment for work on the Riccarton-road, in accordance with a contract approved by the late Deputy Superintendent.
Twenty-five acres near Rangiora, fronting the Harewood-road six chains twenty-five links, opposite the western end of Section 53A (Mr. Shrimpton's), and back northerly forty chains.
Twenty-five acres near Rangiora, fronting the Harewood-road six chains twenty-five links, opposite the eastern end of Mr. Shrimpton's land, No. 53 A, and back forty chains, to be reserved until the 1st day of January next.
The whole of such land, or such part thereof as the Waste Lands' Board shall adjudge, to be granted to Peter Rossiter, by way of payment for work on the Sumner-road, in accordance with a contract approved by the late Superintendent on the 20th day of August, 1857.
