THE Deputy Superintendent directs the following notification to be published for general information.

I, CHARLES BOWEN, the Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in virtue of the powers vested in me by the 43rd clause of the Waste Lands' Regulations, now in force within the said Province, do hereby reserve from sale the portion of land hereinafter described, that is to sayβ
Twenty-seven acres situate in Charteris Bay, to the Eastward of and adjoining Section 265, subject to the road in continuation of the road from the head of the bay, through Mr. Moore's land, and subject to Pre-emptive right No. 265.
The whole of such land, or such part thereof as the Waste Lands' Board shall adjudge, to be granted to William Francis Chaney, in part payment for work done in accordance with a contract approved by the Superintendent for work to be done on the Sumner Road ; to be reserved until the 1st day of December next.

NOTICE is hereby Given that the Provincial Government having received applications for renewal of the leases of the premises at present occupied as the "Custom House" and "The Bank" Lyttelton, the same will be submitted to Public Auction at the Police Office, Lyttelton, on Tuesday, the 1st day of December next, at noon, subject to the conditions to be then and there produced.
