HIS Honor the Superintendent directs the following notification to be published for general information :—

RICHARD PACKER,
Provincial Secretary.

I, JAMES EDWARD FITZ GERALD, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, in virtue of the powers vested in me by the 43rd clause of the Waste Land's Regulations now in force within the said Province, do here-by reserve from sale the portion of land hereinafter described, that is to say,—

Twenty acres, situate in Okain's Bay, Banks' Peninsula, fronting on the road running along the south-east side of rural section 343, bounded on the south by 20 acres reserved for Mr. Thacker in the "Government Gazette" of the 16th of June, 1857, and with as large frontage as the regulations will allow.

The whole of such land or such part thereof as the Waste Lands Board shall adjudge to be granted to John Edward Thacker, by way of payment for work done in accordance with a contract approved by me on the 13th of June, 1857, for the construction of a portions of the Okain's Bay Road, to be reserved until the 6th day of February next.

Twenty-seven acres, more or less situated near Papanui, being bounded on the north-west by a road (from the road leading from Papanui towards Trig. pole c7) towards the north-western corner of section 189A, on the east by section 189A, and on the south-west by the road towards Trig. pole c7, to be reserved until the first day of January, 1858.
