HIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified for general information that a Writ for the Election of a Member of the Provincial Council for the Electoral District of the Town of Lyttelton having been issued, in accordance with Clause 12 of an Act of Parliament passed in the 15th and 16th years of the reign of Her present Majesty, entitled “An Act to grant a Representative Constitution to the Colony of New Zealand”:—The Returning Officer for the said District has returned the said writ with a certificate to the effect that the undermentioned gentleman has been duly elected to serve as a Member of the Provincial Council.

For the Town of Lyttelton—

HIS HONOR THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified for general information that the following persons have been elected Waywardens under the Road Ordinance, Sess. VI, No. 2, for the undermentioned Districts.

For the Papanui District—
Mr. George Compton.

For the Kaiapoi District—
Mr. James Wylde.

For the Avon and Heathcote District—
Mr. Peter Kerr.

For the Lincoln District—
Mr. Thomas Walker Wilkinson.

For the Riccarton District—
Mr. Charles Bourn.
