(a) Under instructions from the General Government the portion of the Customs' Duties payable to the Province is one half of the netc proceeds instead of two-thirds as formerly. These instructions were directed to take effect from the 1st of July last. The amount payable to the Province for the pre-sent Quarter would have been £626 11s 1d, but the sum of £36 1s 10d. was deducted by the General Government to adjust the account between it and the Province since the 1st of July, by a payment of 6s 8d. made in error by the Collector of Customs.
(b) This sum includes £90 contributed toward the cost of the Road to Christchurch by the inhabitants of the District.
(c) The General Government undertook to provide for the expense of Bealey communication and directed the repayment of the outlay which the Pro-vince had already incurred.
