Crown Lands Sale.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned piece of Town Land (having been applied for, and deposit made, according to the Regulations,) will be sold by Auction, at the Land Office, Christchurch, on Wednesday, the 7th day of February, 1855, at noon, subject to such conditions as shall be then and there produced.
An Island, containing 0a. 0r. 23p., (more or less) in the River Avon, opposite Hereford-street, in the Town of Christchurch.

Extract from the Journal of Proceedings of the Provincial Council, Wednesday, 27th December, 1854.
Motion made and question proposed—
“That in the opinion of this Council it is expedient that the line of road recommended by the commissioners for enquiring into the communication between the Port and the Plains, and alluded to in Appendix B shall be undertaken without delay.”
Question put and agreed to—

“That this Council approve of the application of a sum not exceeding £10,000 towards opening out the communication between the Port and the Plains.”

NOTICE.—Whereas under and by virtue of the Ordinances relative to the Registration of Deeds and Instruments affecting real property in New Zealand, every Registrar may, from time to time, make rules for regulating the practice of his Office, provided that the rules so to be made shall be approved by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, and shall not be repugnant to any of the provisions in the Ordinances contained. And whereas mischief might happen from any ignorance as to such practice, particularly as to where and when such documents might be registered...
