Receivers to pay over Monies to the Provincial Treasurer.—Every such Receiver
of the Land rate, shall from time to time, at
such times as the Superintendent shall direct
pay over the gross amount of his receipts to the
Provincial Treasurer, and shall furnish there-
with a full statement of all particulars relating
to the same, and shall declare to the truth of
such statement of particulars upon oath
before any Justice of the Peace, which oath
such Justice is hereby empowered to
administer. -
Rate to be divided into two parts.—The Provincial Treasurer shall keep a sepa-
rate account of the proceeds of the said
rate, and shall divide the same into two
equal parts, whereof one shall be called the
Immigration Fund, and the other the Public Works’ Fund. -
Appropriation of the Immigration Fund.—The Immigration Fund shall be
appropriated to the promotion of Immigration into the Province, and shall be expended
in such manner, as the Superintendent
and Provincial Council may from time to
time, by any Ordinances to be passed in that
behalf, direct; and full and detailed accounts
of the receipt and expenditure of
such Fund, shall be laid before the Provincial Council every year at the annual
meeting thereof. -
And of Public Works’ Fund.—The Public Works Funds shall be appro-
priated from time to time by Ordinance of the Superintendent
and Provincial Council to the execution of such
Public Works as they shall think fit. And
full and detailed accounts of the receipts
and expenditure of such fund shall be laid
before the Provincial Council every year at
the annual meeting thereof. -
Title.—The Ordinance shall be enti-
tled and may be cited as “The Land
Rate Ordinance, Sess. No.
