PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS I, JAMES EDWARD FITZ GERALD, Superintendent of the Province of Canterbury, did, in pursuance of the powers vested in me, prorogue the Provincial Council of Province of Canterbury on the 12th day of April, 1854, and the said Provincial Council did stand prorogued accordingly till the 3rd day of October, 1854; and whereas no meeting of the said Provincial Council did take place on the said day; now therefore I, in further pursuance of the powers vested in me, do hereby summon the said Provincial Council to meet for the despatch of business on Tuesday next, the 10th day of October, 1854.

Given under my hand, this Sixth day of October, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty-four.
