Highways Act, 1874," have reported in writing to
the Superintendent the names of the undermentioned
persons elected as FENCE VIEWERS for those Districts
respectively, in accordance with the provisions of
"The Fencing Act, 1855, Amendment Act, 1874,"
namely:—

WAITAKEREI WEST:—Allan O’Neill, and David
Russell, junior.

POLLOCK SETTLEMENT:—Thomas Meikle, and
John Wilson.

Districts set opposite their respective names, have

HAMILTON:—John Knox.

EASTERN MAHURANGI:—William P. Moat.

MAUNGATAWHIRI:—Thomas Campbell, vice

certified copies of the Assessment Lists of the under-
named Highway Districts for the year 1876-77 have
been forwarded to this Office:—

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 7th September, 1876.

IT is hereby notified that the PONSONBY AND
DEDWOOD District Board has, with the approval
of His Honour the Superintendent, appointed

CHARLES SPURGEON

to be Keeper of the Public Pound at Ponsonby
(Dedwood), in the room of Edward Egan.

And it is hereby further notified that His Honour
the Superintendent has authorized the fees and
charges set forth in the Schedule annexed to the
notification published in the Provincial Government
Gazette, No. 26, dated 18th August, 1871, page
203, to be taken and charged by the said Keeper.

ule are now ready for delivery at the office of the

WAINUI HIGHWAY DISTRICT.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Assessment
List (1876-77) for the above District has been
finally settled. The Rate Book is open for inspection
at the Board Room, Orewa Falls. The Rate must
be paid to Mr. F. G. Ewington, Auckland, or at the
residence of W. Templeman, Collector, Wainui,
before the 30th November next, or legal proceedings
will be taken.

EASTERN MAHURANGI HIGHWAY DISTRICT.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Assessment List
of the above District for the years 1876-77 has
been finally settled. The Rate-book may be
inspected, and payment of Rates made, at the
residence of the Chairman of the District Board,
Town of Mahurangi.

HAMILTON HIGHWAY DISTRICT.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Assessment List
for this District is finally settled, and that Mr.
John Knox is appointed Collector of Rates for the
current year, at whose residence the Rate is to be
paid by those who are liable to pay the same.

WAITOA HIGHWAY DISTRICT.

THE finally settled Assessment List of the Waitoa
Highway District, for the year from 1st July,
1876, to 30th June, 1877, lies for inspection at the
house of Alexander Bremner, to whom payment of
the Rate is to be made at his residence by persons
liable to pay the same.
