PROCLAMATION.

By His Honour SIR GEORGE GREY, Knight Commander of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in me by an Act of the Local Legislature of the Province of Auckland, intituled, “An Act to Abate the Nuisance caused by Dogs” (Session 1, No. 4, 1854), I do hereby proclaim and declare that from and after the publication hereof the said Act shall come into operation within the District of UPPER MAHURANGI, as constituted under “The Highways Act, 1874.”

Given under my hand, and the Public Seal of the said Province, at Wellington, in the Province of Wellington, this 4th day of September, 1876.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 5th September, 1876.

IT is hereby notified that the several Chairmen of the afternamed District Boards under “The Highways Act, 1874,” have reported in writing to the Superintendent the names of the undermentioned persons, elected as MEMBERS of the said District Boards respectively for the ensuing highway year, namely :-

HAMILTON:—John Atkinson, resigned and re-elected.

MAUNU:—Frederick Willice, vice C. Hawken, resigned.

WANGARAI:—John P. Richardson, Chairman; William Carruth, H. Cottle, Thomas Wakelin, and Francis Wood.

HIKURANGI:—Richard Sissens, Chairman; Richard Carter, Kenneth Mattheson, Alexander McKenzie, junior, and Alexander McLeod.

LAKE:—John de Courcy Ireland, Chairman; Edward Barry, Bernard Holland, Peter W. Melling, and James S. Sherriff.

IT is hereby notified that the several Chairmen of the afternamed District Boards under “The Highways Act, 1874,” have reported in writing to the Superintendent the names of the undermentioned persons duly elected as AUDITORS of the said Highway Districts respectively, for the ensuing highway year, namely:-

HIKURANGI:—Donald McLeod, and William Carter.

WANGARAI:—James Whitelaw, and Nicholas Frater.

LAKE:—Robert Mackay, and Patrick Archer.

WHAREHINE:—Richard Cutforth, and Charles Doudney Cray.

MATAKANA WEST:—Charles Morgan, and William Amour.
