PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
By His Honour Sir George Grey, Knight,
Commander of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Superintendent
of the Province of Auckland.
WHEREAS the Board of Education under "The Education Act, 1872," and "The Education Act, 1872, Amendment Act, 1874," has fixed a Household Rate of Twenty Shillings, and a rate of Ten Shillings for every male person of 21 years and upwards residing within the Province of Auckland who shall not be liable to pay the said Household Rate, as the Rates to be levied for the year 1876;
I do hereby appoint
Robert Baillie Lusk, Esquire,
as the person to whom such Rates shall be paid, and I do hereby further fix Saturday the twenty-ninth day of July, 1876, to be the day, and the Provincial Treasury at Auckland to be the place, on and at which such Rates shall be payable.
Given under my hand, at Wellington in the Province of Wellington this seventeenth day of June, 1876.

WHEREAS I have received a statement to me that the Government would make no further advances for educational purposes until I levied the rates, I have now the honour to inform you that I have this day signed the necessary notification, fixing Saturday, the 29th day of July, as the day, and the Provincial Treasury at Auckland the place, on and at which the rates shall be payable; and I have also appointed Mr. R. B. Lusk to be the person to receive the same.

IT is hereby notified that the Chairman of the Matakohe District Board under "The Highways Act, 1874," has reported to this Office the names of the undermentioned persons appointed Collectors of Rates for that District:—
Matakohe—Samuel Wells, of Queen-street, Auckland, and G. F. Rees, of Matakohe.

MATAKOHE DISTRICT BOARD.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Assessment List for the above District has this day been finally settled; and also that the Rate Book may be seen, and Rates paid, at the Office of Mr. Samuel Wells, Queen-street, Auckland, and at the Store of Mr. Rees, Matakohe.
