PROCLAMATION.
By His Honour Sir George Grey, Knight Commander of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.
By virtue of the powers to me delegated by the Governor in Council, under his hand and the public seal of the Colony, under “The Gold Mining Districts Act, 1873,” I do hereby exempt from occupation for mining purposes, or for machine sites, or for business, or for residences, all that portion of land situate within the boundaries of the Hauraki Gold Mining District under the said Act, which is particularly described in the Schedule hereunder: Provided always that the above exemption shall not extend to any portion of the said land now lawfully occupied for mining purposes.
Given under my hand and Seal at Auckland, within the said Province, this 4th day of May, 1875.

SCHEDULE.
All that piece of ground within the Hauraki Gold Mining District containing by admeasurement 2A. 1R. 0P., commencing at a point bearing 179° 2’, 67.5 links from the south-east corner of the Shamrock battery, Waiotahi Creek; thence to the south-west peg of the Ballarat and Rising Sun Gold Mining license, 110° 36’, 130.7 links, thence along the southern boundary of the Ballarat and Rising Sun Gold Mining license, 70° 38’, 560 links, thence 158° 25’, 394 links, thence 256° 38’, 303 links, thence 111° 50’, 689 links, thence to starting point, 51° 13’, 156.6 links, all bearings being magnetic.

It is hereby notified that
Robert Kidd, L.L.D.,
has been appointed Clerk and Librarian of the Provincial Council of Auckland.
This appointment to take effect from the 21st April, 1875.
