No. 7.—Survey Staff.
There are no salaried surveyors in the service of the Province, nor is there at the present time any trigonometrical work in process of execution by the Provincial Survey Department. The ordinary road and sectional surveys, &c., performed as before stated by contractors, have been charged and paid for at the rates set forth in the following schedule, viz. :—

For purposes of computation of payment—
- Vegetation not exceeding 18 inches in height is considered and termed “Grass.”
- Vegetation above 18 inches and not exceeding 4 feet is considered and termed “Fern.”
- Vegetation above 4 feet and not exceeding 6 feet is considered and termed “Scrub.”
- Vegetation above 6 feet in height is considered and termed “Forest.”
