Licences to sell Game are in force until the 7th
of August.
No Shilling Licences are issued under the new
Act; but any person in bona fide occupation of any
land, not being Waste Lands of the Crown (or some
one person appointed by him) may kill Game on
such land without a Licence.
Every person who shall sell, offer for sale, or expose for sale, and every holder of a Licence to sell
Game, who shall have in his possession, or shall in
any manner dispose of, any dead hen pheasants,
shall, on conviction, forfeit and pay for every such
act a sum not exceeding Twenty Pounds; and if
such person hold a Licence to Kill or Sell Game,
such Licence shall, on conviction, become ipso facto
void.

I HEREBY notify that the several Chairmen of
the after-named District Boards under "The
Highways Act, 1874" have reported in writing to
the Superintendent the names of the under-mentioned persons duly appointed Officers and Members
of those Boards respectively, to supply vacancies:—
WHANGAPARAOA.—John R. Marsh to be Member,
vice W. Polkinghorne, resigned.
NEWCASTLE.—Major Wilson to be Member, vice
Henry Byron, resigned; and to be Chairman,
vice T. V. Fitzpatrick, resigned.
TAURANGA.—David H. Bill to be Member, vice
John A. Chadwick, resigned.
