57 F Bridget Hennessy 37 Pneumonia 1874. Oct. 6 Nov. 24 49 57. Admitted with pneumonia of right lung, which ran into abscess and gangrene. Right side of chest filled with putrid matter. Liver nv~meg.
58 F Martha Staniland 72 Cancer of gall bladder Mar. 18 Dec. 3 260 58. Admitted for general debility. A few months previous to death showed signs of cancer in the region of the stomach. A cancerous mass was found in the gall bladder, which had burst, setting up peritonitis.
59 M James Collins 36 Heart disease Nov. 27 Dec. 5 9 59. On admission suffered much from paroxysms of asthma, which he suffered from very often. They were sharp and long in duration, in one of which he died. Left lung found ruptured. Heart enlarged; valves much dilated. Liver large.
60 M Thomas White 25 Fracture of spine Dec. 1 Dec. 8 7 60. Admitted with almost total paralysis, caused by striking his head against the bottom of the solid rock bath while in the act of diving. Became gradually weaker, and on the 8th day died from asphyxia. Left lamina of the 5th cervical vertebra broken across, the left inferior articulating process dislocated backwards. Inquest held.
61 M William Winton 40 Liver disease Sept. 15 Dec. 14 90 61. Admitted with liver disease of long standing. Diarrhoea set in latterly. Large abscess was found in the liver. Heart somewhat enlarged.
62 F Ann Elizabeth Brown 12 Fracture of skull Dec. 11 Dec. 17 5 62. On admission suffering from concussion, having fallen over a cliff and fractured her skull. A piece of depressed bone 2½ inches in length and 1 inch in width was removed from frontal region, right side. Inflammation followed, and deceased died on the fifth day. Inquest held.
63 M Samuel Carey 49 Phthisis pulmonalis May 28 Dec. 24 270 63. An ordinary case of phthisis; gradually declined.
64 M Jesse Collings 59 General dropsy Dec. 2 Dec. 24 22 64. A case of general dropsy, the result of heart and liver disease. Heart weighed 2lbs. Liver large. Both pleura full of serum.
65 M David Scott Macky 28 Dysentery Dec. 27 Dec. 27 9 hours 65. Admitted in a dying state, and survived only 9 hours. Intestine found perforated, fecal matter extravasated, and an abscess in liver.
