I HEREBY notify that in pursuance of the authority vested in the Superintendent by “The Provincial Government Act” (Session I., No. 7), I have this day appointed

BENJAMIN TONKS, Esq., M.P.C.,

to be a Member of the Provincial Executive Council for this Province.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

By JOHN WILLIAMSON, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

WHEREAS by an Act made and passed by the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, with the advice and consent of the Provincial Council thereof, intituled “The Auckland Municipal Police Act, 1866,” it is amongst other things enacted that the Superintendent may from time to time, by public notification in the Provincial Government Gazette, appoint and define the limits of cities, towns, and other places within the Province of Auckland, for the purposes of the said Act.

Now, therefore, I, John Williamson, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, pursuant to the authority vested in me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, for the purposes of the said “Auckland Municipal Police Act, 1866” (with the several Amendments thereof), the limits of the Town and Suburbs of Gisborne, within the said Province, shall comprise all lands included within the limits of the Town and Suburbs of Gisborne, situate at Turanganui, Poverty Bay, County of Stafford.

Given under my hand at Auckland, this 27th day of November, 1874.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

By JOHN WILLIAMSON, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

UNDER and in pursuance of the powers in me vested by the fourth clause of “The Auckland Municipal Police Act, 1866,” I do hereby appoint the Poverty Bay District Board, and their successors in office, to be the “Local Authority” referred to in the said Act, for the Town and Suburbs of Gisborne.

Given under my hand at Auckland, this 27th day of November, 1874.
