REGULATION NO. 17.

REGULATION of the Council of the City of Auckland, made under special Order of the said Council, dated the thirty-first day of August, 1874, confirmed and sealed with the Common Seal of the said Council, the first day of October, 1874.

In pursuance of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1867, Schedule 13, Part X, Subdivision 2, Section 73, the Council of the City of Auckland make the following Regulation, that is to say:—

It shall be lawful to deposit night-soil, offal, filth, rubbish, and other offensive refuse or matter on the western portion of suburban allotment number eighteen of the Parish of Titirangi, in the County of Eden, in the Province of Auckland.

Passed by the said Council this first day of October, Anno Domine one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.

In accordance with Section 190 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1867, the following copy of a Bye-law passed by the Council of the Borough of Thames is hereby published for general information.

BYE-LAW No. 3.

Bye-law of the Council of the Borough of Thames made under special order of the said Council dated the 13th day of August, 1874, confirmed the 14th day of September, 1874, and sealed with the Common Seal of the said Council the 18th day of September, 1874.

In pursuance of the powers vested in them under the Municipal Corporations Act, 1867, The Council of the Borough of Thames ordains as follows that is to say:—

Any person guilty of any of the following offences, omissions or neglects within the Borough of Thames shall on being convicted of any such offence neglect or omission be liable to pay any penalty not exceeding (£5) Five Pounds.

  1. Throwing or sweeping any glass filth dirt rubbish orange peel or other matter of a similar nature upon or into any street channel footway court alley or public place whatsoever.

  2. Leading or riding any horse or other animal or drawing wheeling or driving any cart carriage sledge truck or barrow upon or along any footpath without permission from the Borough Council so to do.

  3. Burning any shavings straw or other materials or matter upon any footway channel surface drain or carriage road without permission from the Borough Council so to do.

  4. Throwing or placing upon any street or footpath any lighted or burning matches paper wood or other burning substances whatsoever.

  5. Drawing or trailing any sledge timber or other material upon any footway or carriage road to the injury of such footway or carriage road.

  6. Allowing night soil or other offensive matter to spill or otherwise cast on to or upon any road street footway public place or thoroughfare.

  7. Leaving any shavings or other inflammable materials in any public street or place or on any open space near any building without permission from the Borough Council so to do.
