NOTICE is hereby given, in accordance with the provisions of "The Highways Act, 1874," that certified copies of the Assessment Lists for the after-named Highway Districts respectively have been forwarded to this Office, namely:—

THE following Acts, passed by the Provincial Council, and assented to by the Superintendent of Auckland on behalf of the Governor, intituled

"The Fencing Act 1855 Amendment Act, 1874;"
"The Sheep Act 1855 Amendment Act, 1874;"
and
"The Arapohue Roads Act, 1874,"
having been laid before the Governor, His Excellency has not been advised to exercise his power of disallowance in respect to them.

Wellington, 3rd August, 1874.

THE following Act, passed by the Provincial Council, and reserved by the Superintendent of Auckland for the signification of the Governor’s pleasure thereupon intituled

"The Education Act 1872, Amendment Act, 1874,"
having been laid before the Governor, His Excellency has been pleased to assent to the same.

IN THE SUPREME COURT OF NEW ZEALAND.

NORTHERN DISTRICT.

Between HORATIO NELSON WARNER, Official Agent, Plaintiff, and WILLIAM MORTIMER BAINES, Defendant.

WHEREAS, by virtue of a Writ of Fieri Facias issued in this action, and to me directed, ordering me that of the real and personal property of the above-named William Mortimer Baines I should cause to be made the sum of Forty-eight Pounds Nine Shillings and Twopence together with interest on the said sum, at the rate of Eight Pounds per centum per annum, from the 23rd day of May, 1874, together with £1 13s. 4d. for the said Writ, besides Sheriff’s poundage, Officers’ fees, &c.: Now I do hereby give notice that I shall cause to be sold by public auction, by Richard Arthur, at his Auction Mart, Queen-street, Auckland, on the 3rd day of September, 1874, at the hour of 12 o’clock noon, unless the said debt of £48 9s. 2d. and interest be sooner paid, together with the said sum of £1 13s. 4d. for the said Writ, besides Sheriff’s poundage, Officers’ fees, &c.: All the Estate, Right, Title, and Interest of the said William Mortimer Baines, of, in, and to all that allotment or parcel of land, in the Province of Auckland.
