IT is hereby notified that Thursday, the 29th day of January instant, will be observed as a Public Holiday in celebration of the Thirty-fourth Anniversary of the Colony.

NOTICE TO HIGHWAY BOARDS.

Auckland, 19th January, 1874.

THE Chairmen and Trustees of District Boards are invited to report, from time to time, to the Officer in charge of the Immigration Depot at Auckland, any demand for labourers arising within their district.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent's Office,
Auckland, January 21st, 1874.

IT is hereby notified for public information that no Timber Licenses have been granted for the current year over any Provincial Lands whatsoever, and that all cutting or removal of timber on such lands is unauthorized and contrary to law.

The attention of all Government Officers, District Boards, and rural policemen is particularly called to this Notification, and they are requested to furnish to this Office information of any Cutting or Removing Timber from Government Lands with a view to prosecuting persons offending and putting a stop to all further damage to the public estate.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

I, JOHN WILLIAMSON, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, do hereby notify that the Kauaeranga Stream, situate in the Cape Colville Peninsula, Province of Auckland aforesaid, may be used for the purposes of "The Timber Floating Act, 1873," under License, as in the said Act mentioned.

Given under my hand, at Auckland, this nineteenth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and seventy four.

I HEREBY notify that the several Chairmen of the after-named District Boards under "The Highways Act, 1871," have reported in writing to the Superintendent the names of the undermentioned persons, duly appointed Officers and Members of those Boards respectively, to supply vacancies:β€”
