PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Auckland, 28th October, 1873.
IN pursuance of the 20th Section of “The Auckland Waste Lands Act, 1870,” it is hereby notified for general information that application has been made to me by
MR. JAMES H. PHILLIPS, of Raglan,
for permission to use for mill driving purposes, the water flowing through allotment number 15 of the Parish of Karioi, together with the right to construct a Dam thereupon.

LICENSE UNDER “THE TIMBER FLOATING ACT, 1873.”
I THOMAS BANNATYNE GILLIES, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, by virtue of the powers in me vested by “The Timber Floating Act, 1873,” and the requirements of Sections 3 and 6 of the said Act having been duly complied with, do hereby license JOHN SANGSTER MACFARLANE to use the Waitekuri Stream and its tributaries at Wangapoua, in the Province of Auckland, for the purposes intended to be provided by the said Act, subject to the following conditions, viz:-

That he shall not interfere with the use of the said Stream for Gold Mining or other purposes by the owner or owners of the Te Ranga Block.

That the owner or owners of the Hikutawatawa Block shall also be entitled to use the said Stream for the purposes intended to be provided by the said Act.
Given under my hand at Auckland, this thirteenth day of November, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.
