PROCLAMATION.

HAURAKI GOLD MINING DISTRICT.

By Thomas Bannatyne Gillies, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

By virtue of the powers to me delegated by the Governor in Council, under his hand and the Public Seal of the Colony, under "The Gold Mining Districts Act, 1871," I do hereby exempt from occupation for mining purposes, or for machines, or for business, or for residence, all that portion of land situate within the boundaries of the Hauraki Gold Mining District under the said Act, which is particularly described in the Schedule hereunder: Provided always that the above exemption should not extend to any portion of the said land now lawfully occupied for mining purposes.

Given under my hand and seal at Auckland, within the said Province, this third day of May, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-three.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 7th May, 1873.

It is hereby notified that re-entry has been made by the Lessor upon the ground demised by the Leases hereunder named, and the Lessees’ estate therein respectively determined, and that the land therein mentioned will be open for occupation under sections 53, 54, and 55 of "The Gold Mining Districts Act, 1871."

THAMES.

Albert Walker and others, (assigned to the Comstock Gold Mining Company Registered); 15 years’ lease of 11 acres 2 roods and 20 perches; situated on the Waiotahi Creek, and bounded Northerly by the "Italian" and "Nonpareil" leases, Easterly by supposed unoccupied ground, Southerly by the "Sailor Prince" lease, and Westerly by the "Waiotahi" license and "Mary Ann" lease; lease dated 10th May, 1871.

The Sailor Prince Gold Mining Company Registered; 15 years’ lease of 2 acres and 3 roods; situated on the Waiotahi Creek, and bounded Northerly by the "Comstock" lease, Easterly and Southerly by the "Sailor Prince" lease.

SCHEDULE.

All that piece of land situate within the watershed of the Waiotahi Creek, bounded Northerly by lines bearing 111° 12’ distance 289 links, Easterly 19° 26’ distance 109½ links, Southerly by Payne’s residence allotment and unoccupied ground, Westerly by a line 16½ feet from the centre of the Government Tramway and parallel thereto, containing 1 rood and 3 perches more or less.
