PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
IT is hereby notified that re-entry has been made by the Lessor upon the ground demised by the Leases hereunder named, and the Lessees’ estate therein respectively determined, and that the land therein mentioned will be open for occupation under sections 53, 54, and 55 of “The Gold Mining Districts Act, 1871.”

The Bass Rock Gold Mining Company (Limited); 15 years’ lease of 2 acres and 31 perches, 6 men’s ground, situated near the Waiotahi Creek, adjoining the “Golden Lion,” “Golden Age,” “Beehive,” and “West Coast” claims. Lease dated 14th August, 1871.
The Golden Diadem Gold Mining Company (Registered); 15 years’ lease of 8 acres 3 roods 11 perches, 26 men’s ground, situated on the Waiotahi Creek, adjoining the “Unicorn,” “Phoenix,” and “Australasian,” claims. Lease dated 22nd August, 1871.
The City of Adelaide Gold Mining Company (Limited); 15 years’ lease of 11 acres 3 roods 37 perches, 35 men’s ground, situated in the Karaka block, adjoining the “Golden Sceptre” claim, and De Hirsch’s lease. Lease dated 12th September, 1871.
The Bona Venture Gold Mining Company (Registered); 15 years’ lease of 6 acres 1 rood and 11 perches, 18 men’s ground, adjoining the “Berkeley Castle,” “Middle Star,” “Sons of Freedom” and “John O’Groats” claims, Karaka block; lease dated 4th September, 1871.
PROCLAMATION.
By JOSEPH MAY, Esquire, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.
WHEREAS by “The Highway Boards Empowering Act, 1871,” it is enacted that the Superintendent of any Province, upon recommendation of the Provincial Council, may from time to time, by Proclamation declare that any or all of the parts of the said Act numbered two, three, four, five, six and seven shall extend and apply to any Highway District constituted or to be constituted by or under any Provincial Act theretofore or thereafter to be passed, or to the inhabitants, ratepayers, or governing body of any such District as the case may require, and upon such day as shall be fixed in and by any such Proclamation, the part or parts therein specified shall be in force in and as to such Highway District, or with regard to the inhabitants, ratepayers, or governing body of such District, as the case may require.
And whereas the Auckland Provincial Council have, by Resolution, dated the eighteenth day of December, 1871, recommended the Superintendent without delay, by Proclamation to extend and apply the provisions of parts, two, three, four, five, six, and seven of the said Act to all the existing Highway Districts of the Province.
Now therefore, I, Joseph May, the Deputy of the Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, in pursuance and in exercise of the power and authority for that purpose vested in him, and upon the recommendation of the Auckland Provincial Council, do hereby declare that all the parts of the said Highway Boards Empowering Act, 1871, numbered two, three, four, five, six, and seven, shall extend and apply to the several Highway Districts specified in the Schedule hereunder, and shall be in force in and as to such Highway Districts respectively on and after the date of publication hereof.
Given at Auckland, under my hand and the Public Seal of the Province, this fifteenth day of August, in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.
By JOSEPH MAY, Esquire, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.
UNDER and in pursuance of the powers vested in the Superintendent by the fourth section of “The Highways Act, 1871,” I do hereby abolish the several Districts under the said Act, known as the MAURICE-TOWN and TOWN OF OPOTIKI Highway Districts.
Given under my hand, at Auckland, this thirteenth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.
