UNDER and in pursuance of the powers in me vested by the fourth section of “The Highways Act, 1871,” I do hereby alter and amend the several boundaries of the Kauaeranga, Parawai and Whakapaku Highway Districts as hereunder set forth.

Given under my hand at Auckland this twenty-fifth day of June, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-two.

The Kauaeranga Highway District.

Amended Boundaries.

Bounded towards the North-West by the Karaka Creek, from the Hauraki Gulf to the North-Eastern boundary of Shortland Township Reserve; towards the North-East by the North-Eastern boundary of Shortland Township Reserve aforesaid, from the Karaka Creek to the Hape Stream; towards the South-East by the Hape Stream aforesaid to its confluence with the Kauaeranga River; towards the South by the Kauaeranga River aforesaid to the Hauraki Gulf; and towards the South-West by the Hauraki Gulf aforesaid to the mouth of the Karaka Creek—the place of commencement.

The Parawai Highway District.

Amended Boundaries.

Commencing at the confluence of the Hape Stream with the Kauaeranga River; thence along the Hape Stream to the Northern boundary of the Shortland Township Reserve; thence Easterly along said Northern boundary to the North-Eastern boundary of the Native Reserve; thence along North-Eastern boundary of the Native Reserve aforesaid to the Church Mission land; thence along the North-Western and North-Eastern boundaries of the Church Mission land aforesaid to the Waikiakia Creek; thence Southerly down said Creek to the Goldfields boundary line; thence along said Goldfields boundary line to the Kauaeranga River aforesaid, opposite Parawai; thence Southerly and Westerly by said Kauaeranga River aforesaid to the mouth of the Hape River—the place of commencement.

The Whakapaku Highway District.

Amended Boundaries.

Bounded towards the North by the Sea, from Flat Head to the North Head of Wangaroa Harbour; towards the East by Wangaroa Harbour aforesaid from the point last named to the mouth of the Pupuke River; thence by the Pupuke River to the South-Eastern boundary of the Pupuke Block No. 2, parish of Pupuke; thence by part of the said South-Eastern boundary of said Block; towards the South-West by the South-Western boundaries of the

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

THE undermentioned allotments will, on Tuesday, the thirtieth day of July next, at twelve o’clock noon, at Messrs. Samuel Cochrane and Son’s Auction Mart, Fort-street, Auckland, be offered for Lease, subject to the conditions hereunder specified.

Conditions.

  1. The allotments will be Leased for a term of twenty-one years.

  2. Possession of the same will be delivered on and the tenancy thereof will date from the 15th day of August next.

  3. No buildings to be erected on any allotment other than a residence and outbuildings, whereof a plan shall (prior to erection) be approved of by the Superintendent.

  4. In respect, however, of every such residence on each of the said allotments a valuation, to be assessed on the determination of the Lease by an appointee of the Superintendent, shall be payable to the lessee by the incoming tenant.

SCHEDULE.

Hospital Reserve, situate near the Junction Hotel, on the Epsom and Onehunga Road, suburbs of Auckland, Parish of Waitemata, County of Eden.

I HEREBY notify that, in pursuance of the seventh section of “The Highways Act, 1871, Amendment Act, 1871,” I have appointed Mr. Roland Hill, to be an Auditor for the Tairanga Highway District, in the place and stead of Mr. Daniel Connell.
