PROCLAMATION.

By Thomas Bannatyne Gillies, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province of Auckland.

By virtue of the powers and authority vested in the Superintendent under the 11th section of "The Auckland Waste Lands Act, 1867," I do hereby temporarily reserve for educational purposes, until the next session of the Auckland Provincial Council, all that piece or parcel of land in the Province of Auckland, being allotment No. 235 of the parish of Wawera, county of Marsden.

Given under my hand and the public seal of the said Province, this twenty-fifth day of March, in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and seventy-one.

HAURAKI GOLDFIELD.

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION.

Superintendent’s Office,
Auckland, 25th March, 1871.

In pursuance of the 29th Section of "The Goldfields Act, 1866," and of the Regulations made under that Act for the granting of Leases for Gold Mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant Leases for Gold Mining purposes to the Applicants specified in the Schedule hereunder, unless valid objections can be shown against granting such Leases.

Copies of the Applications made, and Plans annexed, may be seen at the Warden’s Office, Grahamstown.

SCHEDULE.

Louis Ehrenfried; 15 years’ lease of 16 acres,
bounded on the West by the Moanataiari Creek, from thence North about 19 chains, thence 9 chains East, and then 19 chains South, comprising the "Old Dublin," "Day Spring," "Norwegian," "Scandinavian" and other abandoned claims; not held under Miners’ Rights; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 12.47 p.m., 4th March, 1871. R.B. 828.

Oliver Sorenson, Anton Sorenson, Charles Wright, John Barker, Robert J. McFarlane, George Goodall, and William McKinstry, applied for by Oliver Sorenson; 15 years’ lease of 6 acres, quartz reef, bounded by the "St. Lawrence" Lease, "City of Edinburgh" Lease, and "William the Conqueror" Claim, Tararu; known as the "City of Dunedin" Claim (amalgamated); held under Miners’ Rights; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 1 p.m., 6th March, 1871. R.B. 829.

Daniel Tookey and William McCloughen; 15 years’ lease of 3 acres, quartz reef, bounded on the North-east by the "Nonpareil" Gold Mining Company’s ground, and on the Northwest by the "Central Italy" Karaka Block; known as the "Old Italian" Claim; held under Miners’ Rights; application received in Warden’s Office, Grahamstown, at 1.45 p.m., 6th March, 1871. R.B. 830.

Edward Roberts Edwards, William Hibbs Long, and Anne Seaton, applied for by Edward Roberts Edwards; 15 years’ lease of about 15 acres, auriferous ground, situate on the Waitahi Creek, and adjoining the "Banbury Cross" Claim on the East, on the West by abandoned ground, on the South by abandoned ground, and on the North by the "Pride of Moanataiari" Claim; it also adjoins Weston’s Battery, Karaka Block; known as the "Cambria" Claim; held under Miners’ Rights; with right of tunnel.
